Diana Shipping Strikes Charter Deal For its Latest Ultramax Purchase

The Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping led-by the Palios family has secured a time charter deal for the 2016-built ultramax dry bulk vessel DSI Drammen acquired in February this year.

The 63,379 deadweight DSI Drammen, formerly known as Nord Potomac, has been delivered to the company and Diana Shipping has sealed a charter deal with IMC Shipping for around one year at a gross charter rate of US$18,250 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.

The charter is for a period until minimum April 10, 2024 up to maximum June 10, 2024. The charter is expected to commence on April 15, 2023.

The New-York listed company said it expects to earn approximately US$6.5 million (as gross revenue) for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

Diana´s fleet currently consists of 42 dry bulk vessels (4 Newcastlemax, 10 Capesize, 5 Post-Panamax, 6 Kamsarmax, 7 Panamax and 10 Ultramax). The combined carrying capacity of Diana´s fleet is approximately 4.7 million deadweight with a weighted average age of 9.98 years.
