Greece: 75-Year-Old Man Fell From Passenger Ship into the Sea – Overnight Investigations

An alarm was raised on Sunday at the Port Authorities of Kymi, Skyros and Skopelos in Greece when they were informed about the falling into the sea of a 75-year-old man from the passenger ship “Achilleas”. Investigations to locate the missing passenger in Kymi are ongoing.

The Port Authorities of Kymi, Skyros and Skopelos in Greece were informed yesterday evening about the 75-year-old national passenger of the passenger ship “Achilleas”, in the sea area between Kymi and Skyros.

Under the coordination of the Hellenic Coast Guard’s Search and Rescue Coordination Center, searches immediately began in the above sea area, with the participation of three Hellenic Coast Guard patrol boats, six private boats, nine boats near the area, one Hellenic Coast Guard helicopter and one Hellenic Coast Guard helicopter, with negative results so far.

Investigations are ongoing, and any developments will be announced in a later release by the relevant port authorities.

Preliminary investigation is carried out by the Port Authority of Kymi which is located on Evia island in Greece.
