Eastern Pacific Shipping made an official statement about the tanker Pacific Zircon which was hit by a projectile off the coast of Oman.
Eastern Pacific Shipping’s tanker Pacific Zircon was hit by a projectile off the coast of Oman, the company said in a media statement, noting that all crew is safe.
In accordance with the company´s latest information, preliminary reports indicate that the product tanker Pacific Zircon, which is under the management of Eastern Pacific Shipping, carrying a cargo of gas oil, was hit by a projectile approximately 150 miles off the coast of Oman at about 15:30 (UTC+4), local time on 15th of November 2022.
Eastern Pacific announced that the company is in communication with the Pacific Zircon, adding that there are no reports of injuries or pollution. All crew are safe and accounted for. There is some minor damage to the ship’s hull but no spillage of cargo or water ingress.
Eastern Pacific also said that is investigating the incident, and their priority is to ensure the continuing safety of the crew and vessel. As it is mentioned, more information will be provided when it becomes available.
