Daily IC Shipbrokers Freight Market Report

IC Shipbrokers gives you an insight in today’s freight market and an update with the latest freight market indications. It was a fresh busy start of the week in the dry cargo segment, with further positive changes in the rates for several sizes of the bulk tonnage.

The capesizes were again today having good positive and increasing rates. For tonnage open in the Far East or South East Asia areas the rates were again like yesterday with very good increases, but also in all other areas like on the Continent or Mediterranean areas the rates were also with increases. For the panamax size it was a further day with a mixed outcome depending on the area, as the rates in Mediterranean or Continent areas was once more with increased rates, but again with little falling or best case with stable rates especially in the South East Asia or Far East areas.

The market for the supramax and handysize dry cargo tonnage again today was with general stable rates in all areas. The market for the supramax tonnage getting open in the Far East was again having a day with good increased rate levels in all directions, but in general all the other areas were again today having corrected lower or as best stable rates in many directions, except for the US Gulf where the rates were quite falling. For the handysize segment the US Gulf or North Europe or Mediterranean area the market was again having further slightly falling rates, and with the East Coast South America or Far East or South East Asia areas having quite stable or again smaller increasing rates in most directions.

The European coaster market was with a normal Monday activity in most areas today. In the Baltic Sea area or on the Continent the market was stable or in some cases with slight increasing rates today, but with the rates in the Mediterranean or Black Sea areas today again had further slight falling rates in the entire area.

The tanker market had another day with fairly good activity for all sizes, and with the crude oil tankers today having further small rate increases from most loading areas. For the product tankers the market has again been quite active on this Monday and the result was further increases on the rates in many areas.
