
Japan-based Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha said a pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) the company operates, rescued 303 people in distress in the South China Sea.
On November 7th, the pure car and truck carrier Helios Leader, operated by NYK, rescued 303 people in distress.
As it is reported by the company, Helios Leader was sailing from the port of Nagoya to the port of Singapore when the ship received a rescue request from the port authority of Sri Lanka via the port authority of Singapore.
Helios Leader immediately headed to the area in the South China Sea and rescued 303 people at around 19:30 on 7th of November. Those rescued were in good health and disembarked at the Vietnamese port of Vung Tau on 8th of November, as the company states in a release.
