
The container carrier TSS PEARL has reportedly sunk after a major fire on board last week.
The container ship TSS PEARL, which experienced a major fire on board whilst navigating the Red Sea, in a position north west of The Farasan Islands, Saudi Arabia on 5th of October 2022 has reportedly sunk, as W K Webster said yesterday.
The container carrier, build in 2008, sunk approximately 300Km South East of Port Sudan. All crew have abandoned the vessel.
A fire expert has been instructed to investigate the cause of the fire and these investigations have already started.
The marine and transit claims consultancy firm W K Webster said, that several containers are reported to be floating at the site of the sinking, but it is unconfirmed if any of the vessel superstructure remains visible.
Furthermore, local cargo surveyors are available to ascertain the extent of damage to any cargo that may be recovered.
