
Energy and commodities giant Vitol announced yesterday the death of Kit Kernon, the CEO of Vitol International Shipping.
The chief executive officer of Vitol International Shipping, Kit Kernon, died on 6th November, according to the company’s statement.
Russell Hardy, Vitol chief executive officer, said: “Kit was an exemplary colleague. He built Vitol’s shipping business into a market leader, with his vision, pragmatism and good humour. He was loved and esteemed, both within the company and the shipping industry. We will miss him a great deal. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family.”
Vitol didn’t disclose more details in its announcement on November 6.
In January 2024, Vitol consolidated all its shipping activities into a Singaporean company, Vitol International Shipping Pte Ltd, led by Kit Kernon, Vitol’s head of shipping.
At the time, Vitol said that Vitol International Shipping will be the new name for Mansel.
The solutions VIS offers include commercial management, technical management, regulatory and environmental expertise.
