German headquartered container line Hapag-Lloyd held on the 3rd August the naming and christening ceremony on their next 23,660 TEU Megamax containership newbuilding from Hanwa Ocean in South Korea.
The ultra large container ship was named “Manila Express” in the festive ceremony at the shipyard and like her her sister vessels she has a length of 400 meters, a width of 61 meters and with an impressive capacity of 23,660 TEU.
Hapag-Lloyd mentions that the “Manila Express” will sail in the FE3 service that starts in Ningbo and from there the vessel will in her schedule then call to Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Yantian, Singapore, Rotterdam and from there to Hapag-Lloyds hometown Hamburg, where she is expected mid September. On the return leg she will then sail from Hamburg followed by Antwerp, Southampton, Algeciras, Singapore, Yantian and Hong Kong.
