Athens-based shipping group Erasmus Shipinvest Group (ESI) has added a feeder boxship into its fast-growing fleet under Erasmus Container Lines at Busan port of South Korea.
The Zhongyi (John) Su chairman and chief executive revealed the Marshall-flagged ship Erasmus Leo, Hyundai-1891 teu, built in 2013, Korean register class, entered into the fleet on Friday June 28.
Listed in its website as having more than 30 panamax, kamsarmax, ultramax, handysize bulkers, feeder containerships and LPG gas carriers, the company said Erasmus Leo will commence her maiden voyage and period TC services to the liner-major customer of Erasmus group – A.P. Moller Maersk on the intra-Asia routes.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our team’s hard efforts, and great support from all our partners, to make this new acquisition successfully completed,” the group noted.
Recently, the ship management and marine services giant V.Group (V.) entered into a strategic partnership with ESI, for the management of commercial vessels, including the provision of crewing and marine services.
Under the deal signed, V.Group will take a “double-digit number” of ESI’s vessels of various types into management, with the first container vessel having entered management from the previous week, followed by an LPG carrier.
These two vessels will be followed by further ESI tonnage during 2024 and beyond as ESI continues to expand its global fleet.
