Singapore has formed a technical shipmanagement solutions provider. The container liner giant Ocean Network Express (ONE) and maritime asset-owner and operator Seaspan Corporation (Seaspan) have established OneSea Solutions Pte. Ltd. (ONESEA), a solutions provider focused on technical shipmanagement and maritime talent development.
Singapore-headquartered ONESEA is jointly owned and operated by ONE and Seaspan.
It will offer technical shipmanagement services for container vessels owned by ONE and vessels chartered by ONE from vessel owners.
Raman Handa is the chief executive officer of ONESEA. He commended on Friday, “We are excited to launch ONESEA and are dedicated to achieving the highest standards in the industry by creating value through advanced technology and exceptional talent.
“ONESEA marks the evolution of the partnership between ONE and Seaspan, as it seeks to harness the unique strengths of each company in order to create a high-performing enterprise in the ship management space.”
Ocean Network Express operates a fleet of over 240 vessels with a capacity exceeding 1.9 million TEUs, whilst Seaspan’s operating fleet consisted at the end of June of 217 vessels, pro forma for 41 undelivered newbuilds including PCTCs, with a total fleet capacity of approximately 2.3 million TEU on a fully delivered basis.
