Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced that the containership One Henry Hudson remains at Yusen Terminal (YTI) at the Port of Los Angeles.
In customer advisory ONE said that the water discharge operation and the distressed cargo discharge operation from the affected bays were completed on January 12.
The discharging operation of all remaining onboard containers was set to begin last week.
The GA surveyor begun to arrange cargo surveys, which were expected to commence from January 14th.
To remind, the containership was involved in a fire incident on November 21 at Port of Los Angeles, California.
At 6:38 p.m. on November 21 several agencies including the Los Angeles City Fire Department, the Long Beach Fire Department, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, the United States Coast Guard, and the Los Angeles Port Police responded to a fire aboard the docked containership One Henry Hudson at 701 East New Dock Street in San Pedro.
All 23 crew members were safely evacuated as nearly 200 firefighters responded. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) deployed nearly 200 personnel – numerous fire companies, and several specialized resources including Heavy Rescue, HazMat, USAR, Fire Boats, and Air Operations coordinated efforts from the land, sea, and sky.
Several of the ship’s 23 total crew members initially assisted firefighters in gaining access to the lower decks of the ship, but all 23 members were ultimately safely assisted off the vessel with the help of Los Angeles Port Police and United States Customs and Border Protection.
A barge arrived at Yusen Terminal (YTI) at the Port of Los Angeles and began a water discharge operation for an affected cargo hold. During this period, cargo discharge operations could not be conducted.
