ZIM holds naming ceremonies for two new ships

Israeli container liner ZIM Integrated Shipping Services announced the successful naming ceremonies of two new vessels that have joined its fleet.

These ceremonies, held at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, signify a significant milestone in ZIM’s commitment to sustainability and mark a significant phase in its fleet modernization efforts.

ZIM shared a photo in the social media of the naming ceremony of its two newbuild vessels, ZIM Jasper and ZIM Moonstone.

These vessels, which were named by their respective godmothers, Pecky Hui and Jang Hye Ryen, join ZIM’s 8,000 TEU LNG fleet.

According to the container liner, ZIM Jasper symbolizes grounding and stability, embodies the strength of ZIM’s values and reliable presence, while ZIM Moonstone, with its symbolism of clarity and balance reflects the company’s commitment to unity and forward-looking insight.

“These LNG-powered beauties, built with advanced technology, reflect ZIM’s commitment to ecofriendly, efficient maritime transport,” the shipowner said in a social media post in LinkedIn.

Earlier this year the shipowner celebrated the naming ceremony of ZIM Topaz and ZIM Spinel, carrying a capacity of 8,000 teu.
