UK-based P&O Ferries, part of DP World Group, has announced that the company is strengthening its North Sea freight offering with the long-term charter of the RoRo vessel Lismore, which has now joined the fleet.
The Lismore, a sister ship to the Longstone, will be deployed on the Zeebrugge-Tilbury route, increasing the capacity for unaccompanied freight.
With 4,076 lane metres and the ability to carry up to 290 freight units, the Lismore will enable P&O Ferries to support additional volumes from freight forwarders, logistics operators and shippers, according to the company.
Starting from 18th February, P&O Ferries will be providing 18 departures per week. The weekly lane metre capacity for the route has the potential to be uplifted by 9000m.
“This investment underlines our determination to offer a service that is dependable, competitive and aligned with evolving demand across key European supply chains,” said Kasper Moos, CEO of P&O Ferries.
