China’s NTS triple naming ceremony for Himalaya’s bulkers

China’s shipbuilder New Times Shipbuilding (NTS) has held a naming ceremony and delivery for trio bulk carriers owned by Himalaya Shipping.

The bulk carrier “Mount Bandeira” was delivered to her owners Himalaya Shipping on January 5 after a naming ceremony, which also included the naming of two more sister vessels, and she safely departed from NTS Shipyard on January 7.

As informed, this vessel is number four from Himalaya Shipping managed by OSM Thome.

Her first loading port is yet to be confirmed, meanwhile, the vessel is given orders to proceed towards Singapore.

China´s New Times Shipbuilding (NTS) Shipyard held a naming ceremony for three units of 210,000 dwt bulk carriers with hull Nos.0120839, 0120840 and 0120841 that are built for Himalaya Shipping.

“Mount Bandeira first vessel of our January trio to depart NTS ready for her 20+ years endeavors. The vessels are entering a strong Cape market USD 30,000/day (+Nuke premium and scrubber/LNG benefit). Mount Hua and Mount Elbrus will also commence T/C this week,” shipowner Himalaya Shipping confirmed in a short statement.

Godmother for the vessel “Mount Bandeira” was Mrs. Berit Hauge, for the vessel “Mount Hua” Mrs. Cristina Villarreal Fraile, whilst Godmother Ms. Mina Iizawa named the vessel “Mount Elbrus”.

As NTS shipyard said, “the closing ceremony for the 210,000-dwt bulk carrier Mount Bandeira was held at the meeting room of Jinyue International Hotel.”
