Greece-based and New York-listed Diana Shipping, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has won a time charter contract with China Resource Chartering Limited, for one of its panamax dry bulk vessels.
China Resource Chartering Limited hired the 75,403 dwt panamax dry bulk vessel, Maera, built in 2013.
Semiramis Paliou-led Diana fixed the vessel for a period until minimum September 20, 2025 up to maximum November 20, 2025.
The vessel is chartered to a gross charter rate of US$8,400 per day, minus a 5.00% commission paid to third parties.
The charter started on December 15, according to the company’s release.
The Greek shipowner said the employment of Maera is anticipated to bring to the company around US$2.31m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 38 dry bulk vessels, including four newcastlemax, eight capesize, five post-panamax, six kamsarmax, six panamax and nine ultramax.
The company also expects to take delivery of two methanol dual fuel new-building kamsarmax dry bulk vessels by the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, respectively.
Currently, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet, excluding the two vessels not yet delivered, is approximately 4.2 million dwt with a weighted average age of 11.21 years.
