Greece-based and New York-listed Diana Shipping, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has won a time charter contract with Raffles Shipping International Pte. Ltd., for one of its panamax dry bulk vessels.
Raffles Shipping International hired the 75,700 dwt panamax dry bulk vessel, Selina, built in 2010.
Semiramis Paliou-led Diana fixed the vessel for a period until minimum March 1, 2025 up to maximum April 20, 2025.
The vessel is chartered for a gross charter rate of US$10,500 per day, minus a 5.00% commission paid to third parties.
The charter is expected to begin on October 17.
The Greek shipowner said the employment of Selina is anticipated to bring to the company around US$1.39m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 38 dry bulk vessels, including four newcastlemax, eight capesize, five post-panamax, six kamsarmax, six panamax and nine ultramax.
The company also expects to take delivery of two methanol dual fuel new building kamsarmax dry bulk vessels by the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, respectively.
Currently the combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet, excluding the two vessels not yet delivered, is approximately 4.2 million dwt with a weighted average age of 11.04 years.
