Greece´s dry bulk shipowner Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract with Cobelfret in Luxembourg, for the Myrto kamsarmax dry bulk vessel.
The shipowner said the fixture was made through its wholly-owned subsidiary, and that the charter of the 2013-built 82,131 dwt dry bulk vessel is expected to begin on July 15, 2023.
New-York listed Diana Shipping reveals that the gross charter rate is $12,650 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period until minimum November 1, 2024 up to maximum January 15, 2025.
The Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping led-by the Palios family expects the employment of the ship Myrto to generate approximately $5.91 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
In recent months, Shipping Telegraph reported that Diana Shipping has entered into charter deals for several of its vessels. The company sealed a time charter deal with Western Bulk Carriers AS, for one of its ultramax dry bulk vessels, the “DSI Altair.”
The shipowner sealed a time charter deal with SwissMarine, Singapore, for one of its capesize dry bulk ships, the “New York.”
It inked a time charter contract deal with ASL Bulk Shipping Limited for one of its kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, Medusa.
The company won a time charter deal with Smart Gain Shipping, for one of its capesize dry bulk vessels, the “Santa Barbara” and a time charter contract with Aquavita International, for one of its post-panamax dry bulk vessels, the “Phaidra”.
The Palios family has also secured a time charter deal for the 2016-built ultramax dry bulk vessel DSI Drammen acquired in February this year.
The 63,379 deadweight DSI Drammen, formerly known as Nord Potomac, has been delivered to the company and Diana Shipping has sealed a charter deal with IMC Shipping for around one year at a gross charter rate of $18,250 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.
The company has made, among other charter deals this year, also a time charter contract with Cargill International S.A., Geneva, for one of its kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, Leonidas P. C.
Diana Shipping´s fleet currently consists of 42 dry bulk vessels – four newcastlemax, ten capesize, five post-panamax, six kamsarmax, seven panamax and ten ultramax (including a partial interest through a joint venture arrangement in one ultramax).
The combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet is approximately 4.7 million dwt with a weighted average age of 10.23 years.
