Athanasios Feidakis-led Globus Maritime Limited dry bulker shipowner is expanding and modernizing its fleet portfolio with new additions.
The Greek shipowner took delivery on September 20 a 2024 new built ultramax dry bulk carrier, the Glbs Magic.
The Nasdaq-listed company said that the Glbs Magic was built at the Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. and has a carrying capacity of approximately 64,000-dwt.
Athanasios Feidakis, President and chief executive officer of Globus, said: “We are pleased to announce the delivery of our third Ultramax newbuilding this year from an esteemed shipbuilder.
“Following its delivery M/V “Glbs Magic” has been chartered out to a reputable European Operator at a gross daily rate equal to 124% Baltic Supramax Index 10 TC routes for a period of about one year.
“This acquisition increases the company’s fleet to eight dry bulk carriers with a total carrying capacity of approximately 571,313 dwt.”
Globus presently owns (or charters through finance leases), operates and manages a fleet of eight dry bulk vessels that transport iron ore, coal, grain, steel products, cement, alumina and other dry bulk cargoes internationally.
Globus’ subsidiaries own or charter in and operate eight vessels with a total carrying capacity of approximately 571,313-dwt and a weighted average age of 7.1 years as of September 20.
