Grid Shipping owner Panos Fasoulis has disclosed the purchase of 82,000-dwt kamsarmax vessel Arktos, the largest vessel in the company’s dry cargo fleet portfolio.

“This milestone marks a significant step in our strategic expansion toward larger, more efficient dry bulk carriers,” Dr. Fasoulis said.

The Greek owned shipping group has expanded into larger bulk carriers with the acquisition of a kamsarmax vessel, which is the latest addition in the company’s fleet.

Dr. Fasoulis added the acquisition reflects the group’s shared vision to invest in larger vessels capable of serving the evolving needs of global trade responsibly and competitively.

In accordance with the data in the company’s website, Grid Shipping’s fleet portfolio consists of three bulk carriers, two general cargo ships, and an oil products tanker.

As informed, Grid Shipping & Capital Ltd divested the 2009-built handysize Italida. The shipowner bought the Japanese-built Imabari 28,509-dwt vessel few years ago, and it was the second acquisition of the group.

The vessel was sold to a Greek management company which is currently managing a fleet of handy size bulk carriers.

Grid Shipping & Capital Ltd is a private ship asset management firm that, in partnership with providers of full ship management services, invests in ocean-going vessels. It operates globally in maritime transport, focusing on dry-bulk handymax and tanker ships.
