Samos Steamship has unveiled a fresh series of investments in bulkers at Japan Marine United Corporation (JMU).
According to its website, the Greek owner has added orders for a pair of 180,000-dwt capesizes at JMU in Japan.
The order unveiled on the company’s website shows two units of capesizes with expected deliveries in the third quarter of 2026.
It is already awaiting delivery of a 300,000-dwt VLCC from JMU in the first quarter of 2025.
The ship management company which operates a mixed fleet of tankers and bulk carriers also placed an order for a 82000-dwt newbuild kamsarmax at Sanoyas shipbuilder in Japan with expected delivery in the first quarter of 2025, and an 82000-dwt kamsarmax at Oshima yard in Japan with delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Meanwhile, the company has revealed an order for an Aframax (115000-dwt) at Sumitomo, in Japan with the Greek owner now expecting the delivery of the ship in the second quarter of 2025.
The family vehicle, with over 140 years of experience, counts 24 ships in its fleet spread across tanker and bulker trades.
Its latest newbuild delivery was the double-hull capesize ship Prometheus, delivered this year, by JMU Ariake in Japan.
