Bermuda-based drybulk owner Himalaya Shipping has agreed to convert the index-linked time charters for two vessels to fixed rate time charters at an average rate of approximately $51,200 per day, gross, from August 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.

The shipowner said the two vessels will continue to earn scrubber benefits according to the terms of the existing time charter agreements.

The vessels were not named, but Himalaya has 12 dual fuel newcastlemax dry bulk vessels under commercial management.

Currently, Himalaya Shipping, incorporated in Bermuda, has twelve 210,000-dwt vessels in operation.

The company also agreed to convert the index-linked time charters for four vessels to fixed rate time charters at an average rate of approximately $56,500 per day, gross, for the month of June 2026.

Last month, the shipowner reported a time charter deal for the Mount Aconcagua for a period of 16 to 18 months.

The company said the vessel will earn an index linked rate, reflecting a significant premium to the Baltic 5TC index, as well as certain rights to convert the time charter to fixed rate based on the prevailing FFA curve from time to time.
