Hong Kong-based shipowner Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings Limited said in a short statement in the social media that Wah Kwong Ship Management fleet welcomed the capesize bulk carrier “Big Bang” on March 6, 2024.

It is worth mentioning that “Big Bang (ex Cape Shanghai) was previously built, owned, and managed by Wah Kwong and was sold in 2013. Now, it has returned to the ship management fleet, renamed as “OTSL Athena” shortly,” reads the statement of Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings Limited in LinkedIn.

“We extend a warm welcome back to the Big Bang and send our best wishes to the captain and crew for clear skies, favourable winds, and smooth seas on their journey. We also thank owners for entrusting us with the management of their vessel,” it was added.

Few months ago, the company said that Wah Kwong Ship Management added four vessels to its fully managed fleet.

Among these are the VLGC Gas Oceania with a capacity 82,000 m3, container vessel CUL Hochiminh (teu 2,700), Wah Kwong owned bulk carrier Western Venture with 64,000 dwt and China’s first and largest methanol bunkering vessel “Hai Gang Zhi Yuan” with a capacity 16,000 m3.
