
New York-listed crude oil tanker company DHT Holdings Inc. has fixed a 14-year-old VLCC for one year at $90,000 per day.
The tanker owner entered into a one-year time charter agreement at $90,000 per day for the VLCC DHT Opal (320,105-dwt) built in 2012.
The contract is expected to commence in February 2026 and has been concluded with a global energy company.
The shipowner didn’t disclose the name of the energy company.
Last month, the company extended its time charter agreement for the 299,985-dwt DHT Harrier, 2016-built, with a global energy company. The extended contract is for five years with two optional extension periods for one year each.
The new time charter will start immediately upon the expiration of the current time charter. The agreed daily rate is $47,500 for the fixed five-year term, $49,000 for the first optional year, and $50,000 for the second optional year.
DHT fleet trades internationally and consists of crude oil tankers in the VLCC segment. The company operates through its integrated management companies in Monaco, Norway, Singapore, and India.
