Greece-based and New York-listed Diana Shipping, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has won a time charter contract with Stone Shipping Ltd, for one of its ultramax dry bulk vessels.

Stone Shipping Ltd hired the 60,362 dwt ultramax dry bulk vessel, DSI Pyxis, built in 2018.

Semiramis Paliou-led Diana fixed the vessel for a period until minimum February 20, 2026, up to maximum April 20, 2026.

The vessel is chartered for a gross charter rate of US$13,100 per day, minus a 5.00% commission paid to third parties.

The charter is expected to begin on November 8.

The Greek shipowner said the employment of DSI Pyxis is anticipated to bring to the company around US$6.05m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 38 dry bulk vessels, including four newcastlemax, eight capesize, five post-panamax, six kamsarmax, six panamax and eight ultramax.

The company also expects to take delivery of two methanol dual fuel new-building kamsarmax dry bulk vessels by the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028.

Currently, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet, excluding the two vessels not yet delivered, is approximately 4.2 million dwt with a weighted average age of 11.11 years.
