In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates during the last week continued the decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 1% to $4,351 per 40-foot container.
Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 2% or $62 to $3,337, and Rotterdam to Shanghai increased by 2% or $15 to $628 per 40-foot container.
The rates from Shanghai to Genoa remained unchanged at $3,696, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 3% or $211 to $7,624. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York decreased by 2% or $208 to $10,220 per 40-foot container.
Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai increased by 2% or $15 to $806, and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 1% or $5 to $3,091 per FEU, with the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week decreased by 1% or $12 to $1,106 per 40-foot container.
