In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week started decreasing again. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 7% to $3,279 per 40-foot container.
Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased 12% or $334 to $3,171, and Rotterdam to Shanghai increased 1% or $5 to $517 per 40-foot container.
Also, the rates from New York to Rotterdam rose 2% or $18 to $833 per FEU, but opposite way Rotterdam to New York remain stable at $1,982 per FEU.
The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 1% or $21 to $4,075, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 20% or $1,212 to $4,702 per 40-foot container.
Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remain stable.
