In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued the increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 8% to $2,123 per 40-foot container.
Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 19% or $391 to $2,443, and Rotterdam to Shanghai decreased by 3% or $15 to $528 per 40-foot container.
The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 10% or $276 to $3,120, while Shanghai to Los Angeles increased by 4% or $101 to $2,503. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 3% or $103 to $3,080 per 40-foot container.
Meanwhile, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remained unchanged at $723, and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 3% or $43 to $1,527 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week decreased by 2% or $22 to $942 per 40-foot container.
