In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued with the increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 8% to $1,959 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 9% or $167 to $1,962, and Rotterdam to Shanghai remained stable at $463 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 8% or $156 to $2,111, while Shanghai to Los Angeles increased by 9% or $209 to $2,647. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 8% or $269 to $3,837 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai increased by 1% or $7 to $713 and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 1% or $14 to $1,664 per FEU. Meanwhile, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 2% or $19 to $865 per 40-foot container.
