Finland’s shipping firm Godby Shipping Ab (Godby), based in Mariehamn – Åland Islands, has announced the signing of a one-year time charter agreement for the roro-vessel Mistral with Sweden’s liner operator Stena Line.
Godby states that the agreement includes an option for Stena Line to prolong the charter beyond the initial period.
Under the new agreement, the roro-vessel will operate in Stena Line’s liner service between Europort Rotterdam (NL) and Harwich (UK), supporting operations of this key North Sea trade.
Godby Shipping and Stena Line have a long history of previous co-operation with mv Miranda, mv Misida, plus the mv Misana, and the charter of mv Mistral.
Prior to the commencement of the time charter, Godby mentions that the mv Mistral will undergo dry docking in early 2026 at the Remontowa shipyard in Poland.
In addition to standard maintenance work, Godby Shipping states that a series of energy-efficiency upgrades will be carried out, including the installation of new propeller blades and a redesigned bulb optimized for service speeds between 10–14 knots.
