Knutsen Group takes delivery of LNG carrier chartered to Qatar Energy

Haugesund-headquartered shuttle tanker and LNG carrier operator Knutsen Group took delivery of its brand-new 174,000 cbm LNG carrier MRAIKH.

Knutsen Group, with a short post on LinkedIn, shared the news of the delivery, mentioning that MRAIKH is the first vessel chartered by Qatar Energy.

“This marks the first in a series of 10 vessels the company has contracted with Qatar Energy,” Knutsen Group said.

The LNG carrier, equipped with an air lubrication system and LNG-compatible boilers, was delivered by HD Hyundai on June 26.

As it is reported, the vessel sets sail from the yard today after usual safety drills, housekeeping and idle vetting.

Knutsen LNG France, a subsidiary of Knutsen OAS Shipping, which owns several LNG carriers under construction in South Korea, said in a post on LinkedIn that the vessel MRAIKH brings Knutsen’ French fleet to 15 units.
