Haugesund-headquartered shuttle tanker and LNG carrier operator Knutsen Group took delivery of its brand-new 174,000 cbm LNG carrier Mesaieed.
Knutsen Group, with a short post on LinkedIn, shared the news of the delivery, mentioning that Mesaieed is the second LNG carrier in a series of ten that the company is building and chartering to Qatar Energy.
The LNG carrier, classed by Lloyd’s Register and sailing under the French International Register (RIF), was delivered by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan on July 29.
“Pleased to report delivery of our second vessel long term chartered by Qatar Energy, on Tuesday 29th of July 2025,” Knutsen LNG France said in its statement.
The vessel, chartered by Qatar Energy, is operated by Knutsen LNG France and joins the fast growing fleet of Knutsen Group.
Knutsen LNG France, a subsidiary of Knutsen OAS Shipping, owns several LNG carriers under construction in South Korea.
Few months ago, Knutsen Group took delivery of its first vessel chartered by Qatar Energy. The 174,000 cbm LNG carrier MRAIKH, equipped with an air lubrication system and LNG-compatible boilers, was delivered by HD Hyundai on June 26.
