Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis is in Japan to promote Cypriot shipping and to have a series of meetings with shipowners, as well as executives from shipping companies, credit institutions and shipyards.
Her visit is part of a concerted effort to promote and reinforce the Cypriot ship registry and overall shipping sector, and to attract more shipping companies to the island and to the registry.
During her visit to Japan, Hadjimanolis attended the naming ceremonies of two newly built cargo ships of Polys Hajioannou-led Safe Bulkers, which have been built according to the highest standards and modern environmental specifications, and will be registered in the Register of Cyprus Ships.
The two ships named “Ammoxostos” and “Kerynia”, in a significant act of solidarity by the company marking the 50th anniversary of Turkey’s invasion of Cyprus.
