The Greek shipowner Angelicoussis Group, led-by Maria Angelicoussis, has announced that a new LNG carrier entered its expanding Athens-based affiliate Maran Gas Maritime fleet.

The Bureau Veritas-classed LNG carrier, Maran Gas Nice, was delivered on August 27 to Maran Gas Maritime by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).

The vessel is part of a larger order placed by Angelicoussis Group with SHI that includes four dual-fuel LNG VLCCs and three LNG carriers.

The Maran Gas Nice, which proudly flies the Greek flag, will be on long-term charter to TotalEnergies.

The ship encompasses the highest design and construction standards with outstanding operational performance, eco-friendly design and state-of-the-art innovations, the Greek shipowner claims.

Angelicoussis Group says that the LNG carrier includes an efficient hull form, air lubrication system, shaft generators, and propulsion engines of the latest generation, with the highest efficiency and reduced methane slip.

The company celebrated recently the naming of its two Bureau Veritas-classified LNG carriers, the Maran Gas Nice and the Maran Gas Antibes.

“The Nice and Antibes names represent the historical ties between Greece and France, mirroring the strong relationship between the Angelicoussis Group and charterer TotalEnergies,” highlighted the shipowner.
