Avin International, a Greek oil and chemical tanker operator, has joined Ahti Pool, the FuelEU Maritime compliance pooling solution.

The move brings a fleet of about 35 tankers, representing more than 2.5 million tonnes of carrying capacity, into the Ahti Pool.

The agreement was announced in Helsinki by the AHTI Climate on Dec. 22. To remind, Ahti provides FuelEU Maritime pooled compliance and services.

Greece’s Vardinogiannis group, contributing to the shipping green transition, integrated the tanker fleet of Avin International into the Ahti Pool.

According to Ahti, joining the Pool is a significant step that enhances Avin’s FuelEU Maritime strategy and commitment to environmental goals.

By joining Ahti Pool, Avin adds its fleet to a mechanism for managing FuelEU Maritime requirements.

Designed for FuelEU Maritime, Ahti Pool manages fleets from owners and operators and oversees more than €100 millions of emissions exposure.

Risto‑Juhani Kariranta, chief executive officer of Ahti Pool, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Avin to Ahti Pool. Avin’s strong track record, investment in future‑ready tonnage, and commitment to operational excellence make them an ideal partner. Their entry strengthens the pool’s depth and diversity and enhances our ability to optimise compliance at scale for all Pool members.”
