BW LNG has confirmed it is the shipowner behind an order for two LNG newbuildings contracted with HD Hyundai Group.

The company, which is part of the BW Group, said in a social media statement that the vessels, to be constructed at South Korea’s HD Hyundai Group, are scheduled for delivery in the early fourth quarter of 2028.

The pair of LNG ships will feature a “state-of-the-art design that enables the industry’s lowest fuel consumption and emissions.”

“We look forward to welcoming these new vessels to our expanding LNG and FSRU/FSU fleet,” BW LNG said in a post on social media.

Both ships will be equipped with XDF 2.2 propulsion with VCR, shaft generators and a full reliquefaction system.

The vessels also have some interesting technical options, as BW LNG claims, which the company will look to develop further with its clients.

Information cited from BW LNG’s website indicates that the vessels, under the name H8341 and H8340, will each have a capacity of about 177,000 cbm.
