John Su Erasmus Shipinvest Group expands fleet with LPG gas carrier buy

Zhongyi (John) Su-led Erasmus Shipinvest Group has announced the takeover of another Japanese-built LPG gas carrier from an undisclosed seller. The Panama-flagged Gas Miracle, 2011-built, changed ownership as the company took delivery of the ship last week.

The Athens-headquartered company revealed on a LinkedIn post on January 12 that it has expanded its 20 plus LPG gas fleet portfolio with the new addition.

In a short post in the social media Erasmus Shipinvest Group said: “We kicked off our year-2026 waves of deliveries by the successful takeover of another modern Japanese-built LPG Gas Carrier in the port of Rotterdam on Friday, January 9, 2026, into our 20+ LPG gas ships fleet.”

The Erasmus Shipinvest Group didn’t disclose any financial details about the deal, but it said that after the completion of the ownership change the vessel will be employed for multiple years.

As informed, the ship will be delivered to a company’s top-class – as the company claims – gas trading customer for multiple years of employment in the Caribbean area.

This is another delivery within few weeks after the recent addition to the company’s fleet portfolio of the Panama-flagged feeder containership Erasmus Passion. The company took delivery of the 2022-built Wenchong ship, 1,930 teu, on December 17.

“Within 24 hrs time from signing protocol of delivery and acceptance with our sellers’ friends, the ship has completed the new ownership procedures efficiently and successfully delivered to our core liner-major customer Maersk Line of A.P. Moller – Maersk to commence the dedicated services within the Asia Pacific region,” the company’s statement reads.

Erasmus Shipinvest Group (ESI) is an international and comprehensive shipping group, started trading since 2010, with focus on oceangoing dry-bulk segments in the maritime transport sector, as well as container feeder and LPG gas carrier domains, on assets owning/management and chartering operations.
