Indonesia’s liquid bulk transportation expert PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk reported on Wednesday that ‘after undergoing a rigorous selection process’ has secured a contract with PT Freeport Indonesia.
The contract will be valid for two years, from July 2024 to August 2026, and will involve two of its vessels, the MT Nolowati III and MT Harsanadi.
These two vessels will transport Sulphuric Acid, one of the mineral acids with a vital role in various industrial chemical processes.
“This presents a significant opportunity for PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk to demonstrate its expertise in handling high-risk cargo with the highest standards of safety and efficiency,” the company said in a statement.
In the previous month the subsidiary of the PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk (BLTA) expanded its fleet with the acquisition of the 5,000 cbm LPG Carrier “Gas Lombok.”
Gas Lombok joins her sister vessels, Gas Kalimantan and Gas Indonesia II.
The addition of Gas Lombok to BLTA Group’s fleet brings enhanced capacity to transport around 2,500 mt of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), a crucial energy source for industries, hotels, restaurants, and households across Indonesia, which consumes approximately 7 million MT of LPG annually.
As it is reported by the company, this versatile vessel can also transport liquefied petrochemical gases such as propylene, crude butane, butadiene, and raffinate.
