Germany’s marine insurance broking group Georg Duncker expands its presence in the Mediterranean market through a strategic partnership.
The 155-year-old company with subsidiaries in Singapore, Houston, Rotterdam and Switzerland has acquired the Greek-based insurance brokers Fortius Risk Solutions and National Insurance brokers established in 1963, marking a significant step in expanding its footprint in the Mediterranean region.
The Hamburg-headquartered Georg Duncker said this acquisition enables the company to enhance its portfolio and combine its resources with Fortius’ local knowledge, expertise and international relationships.
With more than 130 employees in six offices around the globe, Georg Duncker provides full-service solution for ship owners, ship managers, charterers, traders, freight forwarders and financial institutions worldwide.
Christian Ross, Georg Duncker Group CEO-chairman and Fortius managing director George Caramanos commented on the acquisition: “We are combining the resources of Georg Duncker with the deep local knowledge, expertise and international relationships of Fortius Risk Solutions and National Insurance brokers.”
