Tanker refused access to the Paris MoU after skipping repair yard

An oil/chemical tanker will be refused access to the Paris MoU region after skipping repair yard, in accordance with the latest data from the port state control organisation.

The Palau-flagged tanker “Arina 1” will be refused further access to any port and anchorage in the Paris MOU region, except a port and anchorage of the ship’s flag State.

According to the Paris MoU, the ship “Arina 1” was detained in port Kiel (Germany) on 21 September 2023 and left port on 19 December 2023, but failed to call at the repair yard in Dubai as agreed.

Therefore, under the provisions of section 4 of the Paris MoU, Article 16 of EU Council Directive 2009/16/EC, the ship will be refused further access to any port and anchorage in the Paris MOU region, except a port and anchorage of the ship’s flag State.

This refusal of access will become applicable immediately after the ship is authorized to leave this port and anchorage.

In accordance with the data of the Paris MoU, the 2003-built ship of 46157 t dwt failed to call at indicated repair yard. The banning authority is Germany, and the date of banning is January 26, 2024.
