Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam, part of the large Dutch shipbuilder group Damen, has let their first FCS 2710 crew transfer vessel to be produced at the shipyard in the water.
Building on its years of successful tug production, the Damen Song Cam Shipyard has readied itself for the rapid series production of the proven crew transfer vessel in order to support the rapidly growing offshore wind market in South-East Asia, helping to realise clean, sustainable energy around the world as Damen informed.
Damen states that the design of the FCS 2710 combines the stable platform of a catamaran with the smooth sailing behaviour of the Sea Axe hull shape, providing optional seakeeping characteristics and on-board comfort. The vessel is based on a proven design, improved in close cooperation with industry leaders and CTV operators. This results in a vessel with a large level foredeck, high cargo capacities and excellent performance in transit and transfer.
