Oil rig Blackford Dolphin

The Aberdeen-headquartered and Oslo Stock Exchange-listed drilling rig company Dolphin Drilling AS (Dolphin), has announced that Oil India Limited has exercised its option to extend its drilling contract with the deepwater capable semisubmersible rig Blackford Dolphin.

Dolphin announced on March 14, 2024, that the Blackford Dolphin was fixed for a firm 3 well campaign over an estimated 14-month duration, and now the rig will continue operations for an additional 120 days through to 10 May 2026 in order to complete drilling, testing, and abandonment work at locations East of India.

The extended term of the scope of work is based on the same rate and terms as the existing contract, as Dolphin Drilling mentions in its released statement.

Dolphin Drilling owns and operates a fleet of three mid-water & deep-water semisubmersible drilling rigs, capable of working worldwide.
