Netherlands-based marine service company KOTUG International B.V. (KOTUG) has acquired a majority stake in Dubai-based Vortex Offshore, an offshore maritime services provider in the Middle East.
KOTUG informs that it has been active in the Middle East from her regional office in Dubai for several years through its regional operations, including subsea services, vessel management activities and the management of maritime operations supporting customers across the Middle East and Africa.
The acquisition of Vortex Offshore is building on this established presence and substantially expands KOTUG’s vessel operations in the region, creating a strong platform for further growth in one of the world’s most important offshore and energy markets.
Vortex Offshore operates a substantial fleet of 11 offshore vessels in the region and 4 offshore vessels under construction (supporting offshore energy, marine transportation, towage and related maritime activities throughout the Middle East).
Vortex Offshore will continue to operate under its existing name and management structure, KOTUG said in its statement.
