Normand Ocean

The Norwegian shipowner and offshore tonnage provider Solstad Maritime ASA (SOMA) has announced that the 2014-built construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Ocean has been awarded a new contract with Norwegian subsea company DeepOcean AS.

The contract has a firm duration of three years plus two-yearly options, and is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2027.

SOMA considers this new contract award as a very large contract defined as being between $50m and $100m in value.

As also reported by Shipping Telegraph, SOMA on June 26, 2024 announced a five-year firm contract with Italian headquartered Prysmian Powerlink Srl for the Normand Ocean, but this contract will instead be covered by another CSV from the SOMA-fleet.

Both vessels will then have firm commitments from long-term clients of Solstad into next decade, as the company reports.
