The Norwegian shipowner and offshore tonnage provider Solstad Offshore ASA (Solstad) has signed a new charter deal with Brazil’s energy giant Petrobras, commencing in the second quarter of 2024, for the 2006-built construction support vessel (CSV) “Normand Fortress”.

The new charter contract has a duration of 2 years firm with possibility of 2 years extension, and the construction support vessel will provide accommodation services to support production activities on the Brazilian continental shelf.

Solstad also reveals that the present charter contract with Petrobras for the 2008-built CSV “Normand Valiant” has been extended by 6 months. With this further charter extension the firm duration of this contract is now firm until mid-February in 2025.

Solstad said the total combined gross charter contract signed has a value of around NOK 750 million (about $71 million).

It shall be mentioned that the CSV “Normand Fortress” and CSV “Normand Valiant” both are owned by Solstad Maritime AS, in which Solstad Offshore ASA holds 27% shares.
