Singapore-headquartered Synergy Marine Group has won a technical management deal for offshore assets deployed for ARAMCO operations, that would see the company expand its portfolio in Saudi Arabia’s offshore sector.

Specifically, the Dammam registered offshore division of Synergy Marine Group, Synergy Ship Arabia, has assumed full technical management of five self-propelled jack up barges owned by Jana Marine, along with several other offshore support vessels deployed for ARAMCO projects.

To remind, Saudi Arabia-headquartered Jana Marine is an offshore marine services provider supporting ARAMCO and other clients across the Gulf. Its fleet includes jack up barges, DP vessels and crew boats.

The agreement sealed between the parties encompasses the barges Jana 505, 506, 507, 508 and 509.

Synergy, which manages a fleet of more than 700 vessels, including FSRUs, LNG and LPG carriers, bulk carriers, container vessels and oil and chemical tankers of all sizes, says this development consolidates its position as a full-service offshore manager in the wider GCC region.

Jesper Kristensen, group chief executive officer, Synergy Marine Group, said: “Managing jack up barges for ARAMCO is a responsibility we approach with discipline and ambition. These are highly demanding assets, and our role is not only to operate them but to act as a lifecycle custodian, ensuring they remain safe, efficient and sustainable from today’s operations through tomorrow’s retrofits and innovations.”

Jack up barges operate in a demanding offshore environment, where energy efficiency, fuel options and the need for future ready retrofits are increasingly important considerations.
