Germany-headquartered offshore logistics and service company Wind Multiplikator GmbH has signed a long-term charter agreement with the Norwegian shipping company Norwind Offshore.

The commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) vessel chartered will be deployed to support service and maintenance work of 80 AREVA M5000 wind turbines on the 400 MW Global Tech I offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, located approximately 160 kilometers northwest of Emden.

The newly built vessel Norwind Maestro, a 85-meter-long CSOV of the VARD 4 19 series, designed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway, is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2026, as Wind Multoplicator says in its statement.

An identical sister vessel will be available to support the project, starting in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Both CSOVs will operate directly from Wind Multiplikator’s home base, Emden.

The company’s operational base includes a purpose-built infrastructure for offshore logistics, a spare parts warehouse, and direct access to the North Sea via the quayside. This setup enables short response times, optimal material availability, and seamless coordination of vessel movements for offshore maintenance campaigns.

“Our goal is safe, reliable, and sustainable operation while simultaneously optimizing operating costs at Global Tech I. These state-of-the-art vessels will enable us to implement our full-service contract even more efficiently and further enhance the long-term performance and operational reliability of the turbines,” says Michael Munder-Oschimek, managing director of Wind Multiplikator.
