The United Arab Emirates has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted the Port of Salalah in the Sultanate of Oman, which resulted in damage to several fuel tanks at the port.
In a statement, the UAE ministry of foreign affairs (MoFA) affirmed that this attack represents a dangerous escalation and a violation of the principles of international law.
It also reiterated its full solidarity with the Sultanate of Oman, expressing support for all measures aimed at safeguarding Oman’s security, ensuring the safety of its citizens and residents, and preserving its stability.
The State of Qatar has also expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the drone attack that targeted the port of Salalah in the Sultanate of Oman, which caused damage to several fuel tanks at the port.
Qatar said it considers the attack a “blatant act of aggression and a flagrant violation of international law and its principles.”
In a statement issued yesterday, the Qatari ministry of foreign affairs affirmed that targeting the Sultanate of Oman – especially following its tireless efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region – constitutes an unacceptable attack on its role as a mediator and its efforts to promote calm.
“The attack constitutes a treacherous act and an affront to the rights of good neighborliness, as well as a dangerous escalation that undermines regional and international efforts aimed at strengthening security and stability,” the statement of the ministry reads.
The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar’s full solidarity with the Sultanate of Oman, expressing its support for all measures Oman takes to preserve its sovereignty, security, and stability.
Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, in a phone call with Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian, expressed condemnation of the continued targeting of its territories.
During the talks, the Sultan expressed dissatisfaction and presented a neutral stance amid the regional tensions.
He told Pezeshkian that Oman is taking all necessary steps to maintain the territory’s security and stability.
The two sides also reportedly discussed the importance of promoting dialogue and diplomacy to protect the region from the repercussions of the Middle East war.
