A new crane tipped over during delivery at Tuas Port on June 15, according to a joint statement from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and PSA Singapore (PSA).

As it is reported, a new quay crane at Tuas Port tipped over while it was being delivered to a non-operational berth at about 1:20pm on Sunday.

There were no injuries or fatalities, said MPA and PSA.

No damage has been assessed to adjacent port equipment and facilities, according to the statement.

All of PSA’s current operational berths remain fully accessible, and all port operations and port development works remain unaffected, they added.

MPA and PSA noted that the incident is under investigation. PSA and MPA will work with relevant authorities regarding the incident.

It is worth mentioning that the first set of berths at Tuas Port Phase 1 have started operations since 2021.

PSA Singapore container terminals will eventually be consolidated at a single location – Singapore’s western seaboard in Tuas.

When completed in the 2040s, Tuas Port will have an annual handling capacity of 65 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
