Container line Ocean Network Express (ONE) has completed a long-term partnership agreement with Dongwon Group by acquiring an indirect share in its secondary subsidiary, Dongwon Global Terminal Busan (DGT).

DGT is South Korea’s first fully automated container terminal, utilizing automated guided vehicle operations in Busan.

Upon completion of its final development stage, DGT will have a capacity exceeding 4.5 million teu, including five berths (1,750m) and one feeder berth (385m).

Given Busan’s position as a significant transshipment hub and local gateway, this strategic partnership will enable the company to optimize cargo flows, ONE said, adding that this investment supports its ambition to manage transshipment operations more effectively.

“By securing direct access to capacity in this key port region, customers can benefit from more reliable and stable connections within Asia and the broader global network,” said Hiroki Tsujii, global chief officer of ONE’s product and network division.

Headquartered in Singapore, ONE operates a fleet of over 260 vessels with a capacity exceeding 2 million TEUs. Through its extensive global network, ONE provides container shipping services to over 120 countries.
