The Slovenian Port of Koper (Luka Koper) has on Thursday inaugurated the completion of one of the largest solar power plants in Slovenia, as the port reveals in a social media post.
The 3,3 MW plant is installed on the roofs of the general cargo warehouses and has an area of 15.450 m2, giving a yearly output of 3.630 MWh for supplying an equivalent of around 880 households.
The investment is an important step towards energy self-sufficiency and a tool to meet the environmental goals of the port.
The facility is part of the SOPOREM project worth €2.8m, for which the port obtained €1.3m in funds from the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area program, which is supported by the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development.
